Monday, Feb. 15th, 7:00pm – ??
Come out to the BottleNeck Lounge on 24th and Madison to support your local Gay Rugby Team! We will have our new 2010 (*FULL COLOR*) Seattle Quake Calendars for sale, and lots of hot Ruggers in kit walking around to schmooze with and sign your calendars. These make great gifts, appropriate for ANY occasion – and not just to organize your dates!
This could be your last opportunity to get a signed 2010 Seattle Quake Rugby Calendar, so come on over and support a Hooker (and a Scrum-half, Fly-half, Full-back, Flanker, Props, Locks, Wingers, Centers and the all-important 8-man!).
…and remember, because you REALLY want this calendar (and we know you do!) but you can’t make it to the event, they’re still available here: http://quakerugby.org/news/?page_id=62

Welcome to Seattle Quake RFC’s 2010 Winter New Player Orientation!
This is a regular practice for returning players, and a great way for new players (yes, you. You haven’t played rugby before? No worries! You haven’t played ANY team sports before? Even better!) to introduce themselves to the sport of rugby.
We will begin at noon sharp, so please come 15-20 minutes early to meet the returning players and get kitted up. Wear loose fitting athletic clothing and running shoes – bring your boots (rugby or soccer cleats) if you have them.
New players will be introduced to the basics of the game, including passing, running, tackling (do not worry, there will be minimal contact for new players) and basic ball handling skills.
Afterwards, please join us for a drink-up and social (the traditional “3rd Half” of any rugby match).
We’ll be doing some upgrades and tightening down of the site over the next few weeks. If things are debilitatingly wonky, email info@quakerugby.org to let us know.
It shouldn’t be that serious though.
I know it says the Budd Bay match this Saturday is an away match, but due to pitch availability down south, the match has been moved up here! So, just like regular home matches, we’ll be playing at Magnuson Park Field #5 (GET DIRECTIONS). IMPORTANT- unlike regular home matches, this match will start at 11:00AM.
All practices and home matches for the fall will be held at Magnuson Park Field #5 (GET DIRECTIONS). Be sure to wear cleats with plastic studs, as metal studs are not allowed on the turf. Also note that dogs are not allowed.
For anyone who would like to learn the sport of rugby before the regular season starts, the coaching staff will be holding once a week rookie practices on Wednesday from now until the end of July. EVERYONE IS WELCOME!
