Regular Practices start this Monday (August 23) at Magnussen Park at 7pm. Carpool will leave around 6:20 from either the Starbucks Parking lot or the lot across the street on the corner of Summit and Olive. If you’re planning on attending the Quake Rugby New Player Orientation, please be advised that it has been relocated to Miller Playfield (get directions) from 1-3 PM on Saturday, July 10th. Sorry for the confusion! Quake’s spring season may have drawn to a close, but with summer comes the New Player Orientation- a great workshop for prospective players looking to learn about the wonderful sport of rugby. The New Player Orientation will take place at < Finishing off the season with a 4 game winning streak, we secured our best standings in our division yet! With 8 teams in the league, they decided on a 4 slot playoff with hardware for the winners in a Cup, Plate, Bowl and Shield divisions.
This is a great way for new player to introduce themselves to the sport of rugby. You haven’t played rugby before? No worries! You haven’t played ANY team sports before? Even better! We will begin at noon sharp, so please come 15-20 minutes early to meet the returning players and get kitted up. Wear loose fitting athletic clothing and running shoes – bring your boots (rugby or soccer cleats) if you have them. New players will be introduced to the basics of the game, including passing, running, tackling (do not worry, there will be minimal contact for new players) and basic ball handling skills. Afterwards, please join us for a drink-up and social (the traditional “3rd Half” of any rugby match). Monday, Feb. 15th, 7:00pm – ?? Come out to the BottleNeck Lounge on 24th and Madison to support your local Gay Rugby Team! We will have our new 2010 (*FULL COLOR*) Seattle Quake Calendars for sale, and lots of hot Ruggers in kit walking around to schmooze with and sign your calendars. These make great gifts, appropriate for ANY occasion – and not just to organize your dates! This could be your last opportunity to get a signed 2010 Seattle Quake Rugby Calendar, so come on over and support a Hooker (and a Scrum-half, Fly-half, Full-back, Flanker, Props, Locks, Wingers, Centers and the all-important 8-man!). …and remember, because you REALLY want this calendar (and we know you do!) but you can’t make it to the event, they’re still available here: http://quakerugby.org/news/?page_id=62
